Kramskoi, Ivan - 25 Kramskoi, Ivan
Ivan Nikolaevich Kramskoi (June 8 (O.S. May 27), 1837 – April 6 (O.S. March 24), 1887) (Russian: Èâàí Íèêîëàåâè÷ Êðàìñêîé) was a Russian painter and art critic. He was the intellectual leader of the Russian democratic art movement 1860–1880. He was originally a poor petty-bourgeois family. 1857 to 1863 he studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts; he reacted against academic art, and he was an initiator of the "revolt of fourteen" which ended with an expulsion the Academy of arts of its graduates, who organized Artel of Artists ("Àðòåëü õóäîæíèêîâ"). Under the influence of ideas of the Russian revolutionary democrats Kramskoi asserted representation about a high public duty of artist, principles of realism, moral substance and a nationality of art. He became one of the main founders and ideologists of Company of Mobile Art Exhibitions (or Peredvizhniki).

Nikolai Andreyevich Koshelev (1840-1918)- historical, portrait and genre painter. Born in 1840, graduated the course at the Academy of Fine Arts with a medal for the painting: \\\"Mercury lulls Argus. Together with I. Pavel Varfolomevich Kusnetsov (1878-1968) was a Russian painter and graphic artist. Kuznetsov\\\'s early paintings are typical of the Blue Rose group\\\'s poetic explorations of an interior, imaginative world through archetypal symbols. After 1910 he drew increasingly on folk culture, continuing to draw on the rich colours and harmonious rhythms of the Symbolists but simplifying his compositions to depict the everyday life of village communities of Kirghizstan in Central Asia.
