June 8, 1877 mine boat (with Shestov mine), "Joke", under the command N.I. Skrydlov attacked enemy ships on the Danube, came to the steamer "Erekle", but could not use mine because of the fact that the conductors were a broken bullets . Commander himself was wounded in both legs but was able to carry out more attacks and demonstrably Turkish monitor. The enemy did not dare to continue to oppose the Russian ships and retreated. On this day, the first time in world history produced daily mine attack, for which Lieutenant N.I. Skrydlov awarded the Order of St. George's 4-th degree.
